Ecological and Soil Data Applied to Conservation Management of an Urban Forest
نویسندگان
چکیده
Urban ecosystems have great potential for urban biodiversity conservation, but achieving conservation goals relies on comprehensive ecological assessments to assist in active management practices; however, land use changes led unique abiotic and biotic inputs that affected altered below-ground soil composition, with potentially negative implications across trophic levels. We investigated the relationships between attributes key indicators of forest health, specifically composition condition vegetation soils an remnant area. The major findings revealed a dominance native plant species, some invasion by non-native plants, acidic high-carbon sufficient most available nutrients. Moreover, stepwise regression analysis showed significant species diversity abundance; prevalence invasive plants (Lonicera maackii, Pueraria montana, Albizia julibrissin, Ligustrum sinense, Lonicera japonica, Ailanthus altissima, Paulownia tomentosa); canopy gaps; fine woody debris floor. These identified affecting health broad long-term monitoring forests.

Evaluation and comparison of management approaches (Ecological and Social-Ecological approaches) on soil fertility performance in Sarbisheh city
The purpose of this research was to investigate the interaction between the type of management approach and the type of combating desertification projects on soil fertility function and it is especially important in monitoring and evaluation of these projects. For this purpose, at the first, the range of three types of combating desertification projects including bush planting, constructing a c...
متن کاملParticipation in Forest and Conservation Management
The participation of local communities and other stakeholders in managing forestry and conservation projects can help to improve forest productivity, alleviate poverty, enhance environmental sustainability, and make rules governing forest access more enforceable. Introducing participatory management depends on government commitment; and it requires time and resources to develop consensus among ...
متن کاملAnalyzing ecological restoration strategies for water and soil conservation
The choice of areas for nature conservation involves the attempt to maximize the benefits, whether by carrying out an economic activity or by the provision of Ecosystem Services. Studies are needed to improve the understanding of the effect of the extent and position along the watershed of restored areas on soil and water conservation. This study aimed to understand how different restoration st...
متن کاملApplication of Ecological Theory to Management of Arid Drylands: An Example from China
Rangeland ecosystems shift across dynamic thresholds between differentecological states in response to natural or human-induced factors. These differentecological states are the result of interactions among climate, soils, grazing history, and management practices. The notion of a single ‘‘pristine’’ final state is onlyconceptual in nature, and because of this, dynamic thresholds and the effects...
